Popular Brands Of Zero Turn Mowers

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Zero Turn Mowers have grown in popularity in recent years among many professional landscapers and also homeowners.  Many popular brands have also started building zero turn mowers.  Likely the most important brand in the lawn equipment business is John Deere, and this is also true for Zero Turn Mowers.  John Deere Zero Turn Mowers are very popular because of their quality.  Also popular are the quality built Kubota Zero Turn Mowers  with their unmistakeable bright orange color.

Other companies have reached success in a short period of time like Ferris, which only came onto the scene in the mid 1980's and has reached an astounding level of success.  Exmark Zero Turn Mowers are also popular and great machines.

You might want to avoid some of the lesser known, cheaper quality zero turn mowers.  Like anything else, if you settle for something of poor quality, you may not be very happy with the performance.

Zero Turn Mowers Increase Productivity

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

For professional landscapers it's not surprise that zero turn mowers help to improve your efficiency and that's why most professionals used them.  Homeowners may not know that they too can benefit from buying a zero turn mower for their lawn at home.  Cutting the grass takes a lot of time and depending on how large your lawn is, it could take hours each time the grass needs to be cut.  Now if you have to cut it 2 times per week, that's a large time investment just to keep the propertly looking nice.

Are there other things that you could be doing with that time?  What about spending time with your family? Watching a baseball game on TV or going to a little league game?  As you can see, reducing the time that it takes to cut your lawn is important because there's other things that you could be doing.

Now you might be wondering how exactly will a zero turn mower save time?  You'll notice that the deck is placed on the front of the lawn mower which allows you to get very close to obstacles and to manouever around them with ease.  No more backing up and going forward many many times.  This alone takes up a lot of time.  Also, a good quality built zero turn mower can handle a large volume of grass and cut at a fairly high rate of speed.

Although zero turn mowers do cost slightly more than a conventional riding mower, I think that you will be very happy with one if you decide to purchase one.

Husqvarna Zero Turn Mowers

Husqvarna Zero Turn MowerThroughout it's long history Husqvarna has been creating quality items for many years.  The reason I say items is because Husqvarna has been around since 1689 and during that time has produced many different things including:  Weapon, Sewing Machines, Kitchen Equipment, bicycles, motorcycles, heating boilers, chain saws, lawn equipment and of course lawn mowers.

You may not know but Husqvarna actually owns a number of companies and builds equipment for others to be rebranded.  They own companies like Weedeater, McCulloch, Poulan, and in the 1980's bought Roper, which at the time was a very large U.S. lawn mower manufacturer.  Husqvarna also builds lawn mowers for Sears and sells them under the name Craftsman.

Husqvarna produces a wide range of Zero Turn Mowers in different sizes from the 17hp iZ4217 with a 42 inch deck, all the way up to the 25hp iZ6125 which has a 61 inch cutting deck.

John Deere Zero Turn MowersYou know the slogan that John Deere has been using for a number of years "Nothing Runs Like a Deere".  It's true!  John Deere Zero Turn Mowers are a real contender in the zero turn mower world.  John Deere was a young entrepreneur who always insisted on building the highest quality equipment.  He felt that if his name was going to go on equipment, that it should be built to the highest standard of quality and this still rings true today.

John Deere currently makes a series of zero turn mowers called the John Deere Z-Trak series.  This series consists of many different variations of zero turn mowers from 19hp all the way up to 31hp, and they come with either a gas engine or a diesel engine, depending on specific model.  Among the Z-Trak models in the Quik-trak models where the operator stands on the deck, rather than rides on a seat.

Since the 1800's John Deere has been creating quality equipment and the tradition continues today with their full lineup of Zero Turn Mowers.

Ferris 1500z Zero Turn Mower

Surprisingly, Ferris Industries actually started out in the milking machine business back in the early 1900's.  In 1986 the president of the company saw that the market for dairy equipment was declining and saw a need for a good quality commercial lawn mower.  Ferris designed and built a Zero Turn Mower and took it to trade show in New York and they were an instant hit.  They claimed to have made a better quality, longer lasting mower than what was available on the market at that time.  Using some of the hydrostatic technology from they're dairy equipment manufacturing, they were able to transition into make mowers, first with a no-belt walk behind zero turn mower.  It was a hit!  After their successful transition into making zero turn mowers, Ferris Industries was purchased by another large competitor, Simplicity in 1999.

This small and mighty Ferris Zero Turn Mower from just might surprise you.  Ferris claims that this mower can cut 4.3 acres in one hour and has a ground speed of 10mph.  In the landscaping industry, not only is it important to do a good job, but it's also important to get the job done quickly and then move on.  The Ferris 1500z comes with a Kawasaki V-Twin engine in either 19, 21 or 25hp with deck sizes of 44, 48 or 52 inches.  With a revolutionary independent suspension system, the 1500z will provide a better cut than most other fixed frame zero turn riding mowers all while maintaining a faster speed.
